Friday, enjoy a "Concert and Picnic in the Vineyard," at 5:30 p.m. Guests board a pumpkin wagon for a short ride down a country lane to the festivities. Sample port in a 130-year-old vaulted cellar on the property of Mount Pleasant Winery. Gourmet picnic baskets containing a variety of cheeses, sausages, fruit, spreads, vegetables and dip, bread, jam and wine are available. Pick up your basket, settle down to your picnic and enjoy live music.
Saturday, have "A Taste of Historic Augusta," as the harvest celebration continues with harvest specials at shops, restaurants and wineries. Attend the "Wine Maker Social," a dinner event showcasing the area's wine makers.

The Clark County Mule Festival is a three-day mule show, also featuring crafts, a flea market, trail rides, and souvenirs. Enjoy Mule Polo at 6 p.m. on Friday night. Shows are 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and a mule rodeo is 7 p.m. Saturday night. Food, drink, and camping available on grounds. At the Clark County Fairgrounds in Kahoka.
The Elderberry Festival III takes place June 7-10 and features two stages and 30 bands performing in Hartsburg. An advance purchase pass for all four days is $30; you must order by May 15. This includes parking and hike-in camping. The gate price for the four-day pass is $40.
Day passes are $5 on Thursday; $15 on Friday; and $20 on Saturday and Sunday. Children ages 12 and younger are admitted free with an adult admission.

Greek food, Doc's Root Beer and Evening Shade Farm's famous lemon verbena cake are available. The Foot Stomping Bear Creek Folk Band provides music in a relaxing country setting.

PumpkinFest is an annual family arts festival held every year during the second full weekend in October. Come and celebrate the fall harvest at the annual Pony Express PumpkinFest. The event features live entertainment, children's costume parade, festival rides, games, crafts and food. Watch the lighting of the Great Pumpkin Mountain on opening night. Thousands of people come to view hundreds of carved, electrically lit pumpkins come to life with the flip of a switch. Held at Patee Park.
