Sunrise to sunset.

The 30-mile trail is popular among mountain bikers, hikers, backpackers and horseback riders. Allow plenty of time; it's tough to cover the entire trail in one day, even on horseback. No drinking water is available in the parking area or on the trail.

Activities in this area include picknicking, floating, canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking and camping.

Eleven Point River Section of the Ozark Trail is located in Oregon County, running east and west about 20 miles south of Winona. There are several lookout points on the Eleven Point River: Leffer Look has high bluffs from which to gaze at the water; Devil`s Backbone offers karst features; other points of interest include the Bockman Spring House, and the cool waters of Hurricane Creek.

There are four trailheads:

  • Forest Service Road 3152 - From Winona, take Route 19 south to FSR 3152. Go east about six miles to the trailhead.
  • Greer Recreation Area - From Winona, take Route 19 south to the Eleven Point River.
  • McCormack Lake - From Winona, go south on Route 19 about 13 miles, then take a right into the McCormack Lake road. The trail begins near the dam.
  • Forest Service Road 4155 - From Thomasville, go north on Route 99 about three miles to FSR 3173. Go east 1.5 miles, then north on FSR 4155 for about a mile to the trailhead.
