Discover Nature at the Twin Pines Conservation Education Center in Winona. Enjoy these programs in July:

  • July 11: Nature Nuts (ages 8-12), 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Cool off with this hot program featuring snorkeling and a study of native Missouri fish. We will provide goggles but encourage participants to bring their own snorkel, if they have one. The program starts at Twin Pines and moves to Current River State Park. Wear appropriate clothing for the water. Reservations are required. For further information or to set up a reservation, call 573-325-1381.
  • July 16: Little Stinker's Storytime (preschool), 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Summer nights would not be the same without the flickering light of fireflies. So, join us for this month's story, "Ten Flashing Fireflies" and learn about these interesting summer insects. Activities include making a "natural" night light in order to learn how fireflies talk to each other and a firefly craft and song. For further information or to make a reservation, call 573-325-1381. Large groups can schedule a date for their program. Reservations are required.

These Discover Nature events are held on the above dates ONLY.
