Cycle for the Future is a new Special Olympics Missouri fundraiser aimed at raising awareness and funds for SOMO's Training for Life Campus.
The fundraiser will be two 2-day simultaneous rides, both of which will end in Jefferson City; one begins in St. Louis and the other in Clinton.
The St. Louis-Jefferson City route is as follows: 103.7 miles - Start in St. Charles (Sept. 20) - Camp in Hermann - End in Jefferson City (Sept. 21)
The Clinton-Jefferson City route is as follows: 121.4 miles - Start in Clinton (Sept. 20) - Camp in Boonville - End in Jefferson City (Sept. 21)
Registration fee is $310 and covers a breakfast, lunch and dinner over the weekend as well as camping, showers, SAG stop food and drink, goody bags and more. Because this is our first year putting on such an event, we've decided to put a cap on the number of riders on each route at 300 (600 total).
The registration fee covers the cost of sending one of our 17,000+ athletes to the State Summer Games competition in May ($55), the State Outdoor Games competition ($55) in October and a week-long Sports Camp in June ($200). We hope to have fundraising incentives posted in the near future.
Editor's Note: address shown above is for the Special Olympics office. Actual event location is Katy Trail State Park with starting points in St. Charles and Clinton.
Explore Missouri by bike on this six-day cross-state cycling and camping adventure. The ride will start in downtown Kansas City on September 30 and will end in St. Louis on October 5. Along the way we will bike on some of Missouri's most beautiful roads and trails, and will visit lovely towns, including Jefferson City October 2-3, where you can join the two-day Katy Trail option. Other shorter ride options are also available.
