Explore the waters of Ha Ha Tonka State Park. Take a hike in a creek and look for crawdads, insects, fish and other aquatic life in and around the water. Walk to Ha Ha Tonka Spring and discover how important it is to the park's history. Learn about watersheds, the water cycle, stream teams and more.
The day camp will also include service projects, games and crafts. Participants who attend both days will earn their Missouri State Park Explorer patch. The day camp is intended for children ages 6 to 12. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the park office starting July 1.
Bring the family to the historic site for an autumn evening of fun and education. This free event features about 12 educational activity and game stations set up within all three exhibit galleries of the Powerhouse Museum. Fall Rocks is mostly designed to appeal to elementary-aged children and all activities relate to mineral resources, mining and personal recreational safety. Interpretive staff will be available to answer questions about mining and minerals in the Old Lead Belt. Refreshments will be served.
Tikitum and the National WWI Museum welcome little learners (3-12 yrs old) to use all of their senses exploring the connection between history and science.
Each one-hour class includes 30-45 minutes of structured experiments followed by play and exploration.
Included with Museum admission and free for members.
New summer hours for the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial are from Memorial Day to Labor Day: Sun.-Fri., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Kids SciFri with Tikitum events will be held on the above-listed dates ONLY.
