Join the "stinkers" for this month's story "Leaf Man" to find out how leaves are the "food factories" for trees that help insure their survival. Then stay for the activities that are selected to go with the theme of the story. Make a "leaf man," sing a song and play the game, "Never Touched the Ground."

Bring the family to the historic site for an autumn evening of fun and education. This free event features about 12 educational activity and game stations set up within all three exhibit galleries of the Powerhouse Museum. Fall Rocks is mostly designed to appeal to elementary-aged children and all activities relate to mineral resources, mining and personal recreational safety. Interpretive staff will be available to answer questions about mining and minerals in the Old Lead Belt. Refreshments will be served.

Add a little fun and adventure to your life by seeking “treasure” hidden in Fort Zumwalt Park, O’Fallon, Missouri. The event, which is for ages 5 and older, will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 20.
Starting with the first clue, participants will proceed to one of six stations and complete an activity to receive a clue to the location of the next station, and a puzzle piece. When all the puzzle pieces are assembled they will provide the final clue showing where to dig for buried treasure.

Summer Discovery is a special 90-minute educational program designed for children's groups (scouts, church, summer school, etc.). The program includes the educational, riding-tour of the cave, plus a 30-minute session at the Outdoor Classroom, panning for and identifying Missouri minerals.
Summer Discovery is available daily, June-August. This event is open to groups of 20-60. Reservations required.
