We have three cottages that sleep six, located two miles outside of Ironton, 80 miles southeast of St. Louis. The country setting provides a peace and quiet not found in the city. Walk along Stouts Creek; relax by the pool; float the Black River using canoes, rafts or tubes. Trail rides are on the adjacent property.

A rustic, secluded log cabin with loft; sleeps six. It has a European style, two-story fireplace, indoor Jacuzzi brand tub, outdoor hot tub and a large front porch. Bear Cub Cabin is smaller, but also sleeps six. The three-bedroom lodge sleeps 10; it has a red granite, woodburning fireplace, large deck and outdoor hot tub. All units have kitchen and bathroom. The lodgings offer half a mile of private Black River beach front access. Float trips and weekend entertainment are available at Bearcat Getaway Resort. Located 20 minutes from Johnson's Shut-Ins; 15 minutes from Taum Sauk Mountain State Park; 30 minutes from Elephant Rocks State Park; and 25 minutes from Fort Davidson State Historic Site.

Hummingbird Hideaway is a two-bedroom, one-bath cottage in secluded Peola Valley. We offer peace and quiet, complete with a spring-fed creek that runs through our property. Remodeled in 2009, so most everything is new, from kitchen to bath to bedrooms. We provide private access to the Black River. There are hordes of hummingbirds, in season.
Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park offers six camper cabins located off of Loop 2 in the campground. The log cabins provide accommodations for up to four adults and two children. These accommodations include a queen-size bed and a double-size futon. The camper cabins, open March through December, may be reserved in advance. The camper cabins have electricity, heating and air conditioning but do not include water or restrooms. Each cabin has a dining table, ceiling fan, compact refrigerator and microwave.
