At Prairie State Park, explore the prairie while learning about bison (buffalo). Take this guided bison hike to see what the prairie has to offer.

Prepare for a two-hour hike, perhaps longer, across uneven terrain. Binoculars are useful for looking at bison and other wildlife. Don’t forget your camera.

Winter is on its way. Get the jump on it and see the bison. Take water, snacks, insect repellent, a hat and sunscreen; wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Dress for the weather – the prairie winds can be rather nasty this time of year.
