This Olympic-style sports festival for senior athletes allows you to compete for medals in a wide variety of sports and skill contests, including: track and field; swimming; archery; shuffle board; bowling; golf; disc golf; long distance Frisbee; horseshoes; race-walk; basketball free throw and three point; football and softball throw; racquetball; and table tennis. Registration form available at the YMCA of Hannibal, Hannibal Regional Hospital, and by phone (ask for Sarah Boleach). The games promote physical activity through camaraderie, competition, challenge and just plain fun. Entry into the events is unlimited for a $20 fee before 8/18/10. The entry fee is $25 per participant after 8/19/10. New participants receive a $5 discount and anyone who refers a new participant receives $5 off their entry fee. Medals awarded to the top three in every age bracket, in each event. Participants must be 50-90 years old.

Mark Twain Lake will be the site of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica, The Wall That Heals Exhibit, This exhibit features a 250-foot replica of the original Memorial in Washington, D.C. It addresses not only the loss of more than 58,000 men and women whose names are inscribed on The Wall...our parents, children, neighbors and friends. The exhibit allows those heroes enshrined on the Memorial to return symbolically to the places they called home, to exist among friends and family once more in the comfort and peace of familiar surroundings.

Cameron Cave offers a different underground adventure; you will tour the cave by lantern light, seeing it as it was when first discovered. The only changes made were those necessary to make the tour more comfortable and to meet Missouri State Safety regulations for show caves. This guided tour takes you through this complex maze cave.
