Now a two-day family event, this annual fundraiser begins with our signature barbecue dinner, tractor-pulled train rides and a special auction run by kids for kids at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Enjoy a cappella music with dinner and learn about MCC's water-relief projects in Tanzania.
Come back Saturday morning for a breakfast, sweetened with traditional Mennonite New Year's Cookies and fresh-made donuts. The auction begins at 9:30 a.m. and features hand-crafted furniture, quilts, farm equipment, tools, sheds, livestock and a wide variety of other items.
Lunch options include our baked potato bar, (we use a live steam engine to simmer our spuds) chuckwagon chili, hot ham and cheese sandwiches, home-baked bierrocks by-the-bag, fresh-made strawberry pie and a variety of other fresh-baked cookies, pies and breads.
Kids will enjoy still more train rides and RC airplane demonstrations; be sure to watch for falling candy. With spring only days away, be among the first to buy beautiful bedding plants. And visit the Ten Thousand Villages fair-trade craft booth for for unique international gifts items.
All proceeds from donated items support MCC's world-wide disaster/disease and drought-relief efforts. To donate items to the sale or get more information on this event, call 573-378-4043.
