From its founding in the early 1890s through the Roaring 20s and the Dirty Dancing Era, people flocked to Steelville for its lodges and resorts. It hasn't really changed that much, with Wildwood Springs Lodge, Cobblestone, Fox Springs and Birds Nest Resort all still going strong.
