Managed by the Kirksville Arts Association, the Arts Center gallery hosts month-long exhibits featuring local and regional artists. The association offers a variety of classes and programs throughout the year and hosts the annual Red Barn Arts and Crafts Festival each fall.
The Mildred Cox Gallery is located within the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts at William Woods University. Exhibits of professional and student artwork change monthly. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call 573-592-4245.
The State Historical Society of Missouri Research Center-Columbia offers a reference library, manuscript collections, and art galleries. The Columbia Center is located in Ellis Library, on the University of Missouri campus. The Main Gallery and Corridor Galleries feature rotating exhibits, with selected paintings by George Caleb Bingham and Thomas Hart Benton on permanent display.
The SHSMO holds one of the largest collections of paintings by George Caleb Bingham, including Order No. 11. The Thomas Hart Benton Collection contains the Year of Peril series, lithographs and other works. Many other Missouri artists are represented in the SHSMO holdings.
SHSMO's extensive editorial cartoon collection includes original drawings by Daniel Fitzpatrick, S.J. Ray, Bill Mauldin, Don Hesse, Tom Engelhardt, among others.
Closed Mondays, holidays, and for special events.
The gallery features the works by student and professional artists. Located in the old gymnasium in Ophelia Parrish Hall, the gallery is open during the academic year.
